Type locality. W. Pakistan > Khewra Salt Range .

Type material. The holotype and some paratypes should stand in NZSI, although they have been not found in that collection (P. Mazzoldi, personal communication, 2007).

This taxon clearly belongs to the laeviventris -group and it could be close to N. indicus and N. sagartus , or even be a synonym of one of them. A single, non-type, male specimen in BMNH, identified as Potamonectes balli by Vazirani ( India, Uttaranchal Pradesh, Bhimtal, Kumaon Kalees, 5.VI.1978: see also under "Additional material examined" of N. indicus ), is undoubtedly a specimen of N. indicus . Nevertheless, this question may only be resolved through examination of the type material (see also discussion under N. sagartus ).
