Proneca fola Swinhoe, 1890 , Transactions of the Entomological Society of London 1890: 194.
TL: Thyetmyo , Burma. Lectotype (♀) designated (as type) by Hampson, 1900.
TD: BMNH.
Distribution in India: Kolkata ( Sevastopulo 1938), ( Holloway 2003). Elsewhere: Burma, Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Borneo, Java ( Holloway 2003).
Host Plant: Quisqualis , Terminalia ( Combretaceae ) ( Robinson et al., 2001); Melastoma ( Melastomataceae ) and Eugenia ( Myrtaceae ) from Java ( Piepers and Snellen 1904).
Remarks: Distribution of the species as suggested by László et al., (2015) covers Indochina ( Burma, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia), Island of Sri Lanka and the north-western part of the Sundaland (Sumatra and Borneo). However, the species was reared at Kolkata by Sevastopulo in 1938.
