Lymexylon nympheumus De Cristofori & Jan 1832: 26 , syn. nov.
Remarks. Lymexylon nympheumus De Cristofori & Jan, 1832 , from " It. bor. [= Italia borealis = northern Italy]", was given as an unnecessary new name for " navale ♀ " and " flavipes ♂ " ( De Cristofori & Jan 1832: 26). As Cantharis navalis Linnaeus, 1758 , and Lymexylon flavipes Fabricius, 1787 are subjective synonyms ( Cuccodoro 2007), it follows that Lymexylon nympheumus De Cristofori & Jan, 1832 is a junior objective synonym of Lymexylon navale ( Linnaeus, 1758) syn. nov.
