Material examined. Holotype, male: BRAZIL, Rio de Janeiro, Nova Friburgo, Parque Municipal: 20.iv.1977, Flint, Jr., O.S., Flint C. and Vanin, S.A. Adults. Rio de Janeiro, Parque Nacional do Itatiaia, Rio Campo Belo: 2 males, 1 female, 07.iii.2002, light trap, Holzenthal, Blahnik, Paprocki & Prather. São Paulo, Parque Estadual Serra do Mar, Núcleo Santa Virgínia: 2 males, 1 female, 19–21.i.2006, light trap, P.C. Bispo et al.
Diagnostic characters. General color dark brown, forewing length 10.3–13.0 mm in males and 13.3–13.6 mm in females; tergum 10 of males with small posterolateral extensions, posterior margin shallowly concave, posterior sclerite small, not triangular; male paraprocts strongly bent upwards at about mid–length, apex ending in a small spine directed laterally.
Female. General colour dark brown. Parietalia brown, thin lighter areas close to eyes. Frons dark brown, darkest between ocelli, lighter areas in front of epicranial line. Clypeus and labrum brown. Eyes dark brown. Antennae dark brown. Pronotum brown with a pair of mediolateral elevations. Meso– and metascutum brown, pleurae brown. Femora brown with yellowish pattern, posterior face of middle and hind femora yellowish and apex brown. Tibiae and tarsi brown. Forewings spotted, with brownish membrane, veins and crossveins brown. Hindwings brownish, without spots. Abdominal tergum 1–7 and sternum 1–6 membranous. Sternum 7 with a pair of sclerotized spots anterior to the subgenital plate. Tergum 9 sclerotized; subgenital plate sclerotized, with small apical notch ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 a and 6b). Paraprocts normal, with an apicodorsal projection ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 b). Cerci brown. Width of head, 0.77–1.01 mm; length of forewing 13.3–13.6 mm; the sole undamaged cercus had 18 cercomeres.
