Genus Nippoptilia Matsumura 1931 View in CoL
Nippoptilia Matsumura 1931, p 1054 View in CoL , Species No. 2060.
Type species: Stenoptilia vitis Sasaki 1913 .
The genus Nippoptilia is superficially differentiated from its allies by frons not projected forward; labial palpus long and slender; both lobes of forewing liner with distinct termen, except that of N. cinctipedalis , three lobes of hindwing linear ( Figures 1–4 View Figures 1–5 ), and a well-developed scale-tooth terminally on the third lobe in hindwing ( Figures 6–13 View Figures 6–13 ). The male genitalia ( Figures 14–23 View Figures 14–23 ) are well defined by the symmetric elongate valvae, sometimes with separated sacculus; tegumen deeply incised medially dividing two large plates with rounded apex. The female genitalia ( Figures 24–30 View Figures 24–30 ) have extremely long apophyses posteriores; mostly without Apophysis anterioris except Nippoptilia cinctipedalis (Walker) ; papillae analis with sharply pointed caudal lobes; antrum generally sclerotized, long, tube-like, or cup-shaped, with numerous coiled hairs laterally; corpus bursae usually with a pair of leaf-shaped signa.
