Description – Measurements (in mm, n=3): HW = 0.76 (0.73–0.78); TW = 0.80 (0.76– 0.83); PW = 1.07 (0.99–1.14); EW = 1.13 (1.09–1.18); AW = 1.19 (1.13–1.25); HL = 0.59 (0.56– 0.62); EL = 0.15 (0.14–0.16); TL = 0.23 (0.20–0.25); PL = 0.62 (0.59–0.64); SC = 0.66 (0.62–0.70); FB = 1.96 (1.87–2.01); BL = 3.81 (3.68–4.00). Habitus as in Fig. 76 View Figs 76–77 . Forebody rather dull for densesculpture, abdomendenselypuncturedandweaklymicrosculptured, morelustrous. Headandfirstantennomeresblackishdarkbrown, restofbodyreddishdarkbrown, ante- riormarginofheadoftenlighter, reddish. Headwithanteriormarginpossessingmarked rim (weakerinmiddle), evenlyarchedbutslightlyangledatsupraantennalprominences, theseasmoderatelyelevatedobliqueridges, rimcontinuingposteriadalonginnerborder ofeyes, discslightlyimpressedbesideit. Epistomalsutureformingobsoletecircularimpression (sculptureinsidenotdiffering), uppersurfacewithtactilesetae (intratemporalis) situatedpostero-mediallyofeacheye. Eyesmedium-sizedandslightlybulging, indorsal viewtemples (1.5× lengthofeye) alatiform, laterallyroundedandposteriorlyconstricted toformdistinctneck, separatedbytransversaloccipitalfurrow. Antennomere 1 flattened club-shapedandstronglymicrosculptured, segment 2 basallybroadovoid, segment 3 clubshaped, segment 4 smallandslightlytransverse, segments 5–11 withbasaldishes, articles 6–10 transverse (about 1.4× broaderthanlong). Headandpronotumwithlacunosesculpture, inmidlineslightlytransitionaltocostulate. Pronotumwithlateralportionexplanate, edgealatiformwithverysparseshortsetae; lateralborderalmostevenlyarchedwiththin marginalridgeandanumberofsmall, irregularlydistributeddenticles, posteriormargin evenlyarched, posteriorcornersinconspicuous; discmediallywithtwoposteriorlyconfluentlongitudinalridges, slightlyimpressedalongsidethem, laterallysomewhatimpressed 0.13 mm for Fig. 58 View Figs 57–63

nearsidemargin. Elytrawithoutmembranousposteriormargin. Elytralepipleuralridge apparentasstrongersculpturelinesinlateralalatiformportions, discwithveryslightto noimpressionincentre; shoulderswelldeveloped, surfaceobscurelyfoveolate, elevations ofinterspacesconflentasshortlongitudinalridges. Legsshort, pro-andmesotibiawith severalspinuloserows, metatibiawithlongitudinalctenidiumofspinulesindistalhalf. Etymology – ThenamederivesfromthepopulatedplaceCoonoornearthetypelocality (nouninapposition).

Distribution – OnlyknownfromasmallareainsouthernIndia.

Remarks – This species is most closely related to A. gunung , both with ratherconspicuous, dark, stoutanderecttactilesetaeonheadandpronotum.
