Description – Measurements (in mm, n=10): HW = 0.77 (0.71–0.83); TW = 0.78 (0.72– 0.83); PW = 1.18 (1.06–1.26); EW = 1.22 (1.11–1.33); AW = 1.23 (1.13–1.31); HL = 0.58 (0.54– 0.62); EL = 0.14 (0.13–0.15); TL = 0.23 (0.21–0.25); PL = 0.67 (0.59–0.73); SC = 0.65 (0.59–0.71); FB = 1.96 (1.77–2.09); BL = 3.67 (3.35–3.95). Habitus as in Fig. 91 View Figs 90–91 . Forebody rather shining despite sculpture, abdomen very finely microsculptured and medium finely, rather shallowly punctate, duller. Antennomere 1 club-shaped, smooth, segment 2 basallybroadoval, seg- ment 3 club-shaped, segment 4 smallandisodiametrical, segments 5–11 withbasaldishes, articles 6–10 transverse (morethan 1.5× broaderthanlong), antennomeres 9–10 bulkier thanpreceding. Headandpronotumwithmostlyfoveatesculpture, varyingbutmostly verysmallinterspaces. Pronotumwithlateralportionmostlyexplanateandup-turned, edgealatiformwithsparseshortsetae; lateralmarginarchedandzigzaggedwithanumberofsmall, irregularlydistributeddenticles, posteriormarginstronglyincisedinavari- ablezigzaggedfashionbeforecorners; discmediallywithtwoalmostparallellongitudinal ridges, impressedalongsidethem, lateralpartsimpressed (mostlyaroundmiddle). Elytra withconspicuousmembranousposteriormarginextendingfromsuturalcornerto 4/5 of hindmargin, asmallincisionbeforeoutercorner. Elytralepipleuralridgepresentwith up-turnedlateralalatiformportions, disclongitudinallyimpressedalongside; shoulders welldeveloped, surfacefoveolate, inbetweenpuncturestorulose. Legsshort, pro-and mesotibiawithseveralspinuloserows, metatibiawithlongitudinalctenidiumofspinules indistalhalf. Etymology – The species is named after the collector of most of the material of this species, AlexanderRiedel (SMNK).

Distribution – OnlyoccursontheislandofJava, butapparentlyinseveral areas.

Remarks – The taxon is closely related to A. lucidulus and to a lesser extent alsoto A. ijen , bothofwhichareendemictoJava.
