Diagnosis: Character states of the family such as: idiosoma nearly round, bearing 20 pairs of setae, Dorsal plate bearing 4 or 6 pairs of setae, membranous integument surrounding Dp bearing 6 or 8 pairs of setae, coxal plates closely adpressed to one another, with CXI clearly delineated and plates CXII and CXIII either clearly delineated or fused with suture lines incomplete or nearly obliterated. CXII bearing 1 pair of setae, CXIII bearing 1 or 3 pairs of setae, shape of Expp various.
Characters valid for the genus: Dp bearing 4 pairs of setae; eye plates on each side separate; coxal plates with plates I clearly delineated and plates II and III fused with suture lines obliterated except laterally; plates III bearing 1 pair of setae, C4, anteriorly; excretory pore plate 5sided with angles rounded, bearing 2 pairs of setae, E1 and E2, or 3 pairs with E1 and E 2 in anterior half and V2 at posterolateral angles; membranous integument surrounding plate bearing 4 pairs of setae, V1 to V4, or 3 pairs of setae, V1, V3 and V4, with V2 on excretory pore plate; numbers of setae and solenidia on distal leg segments: I L4 9se+2so, IL5 13se+1so; IIL2 7se, IIL4 9 se+2so, IIL5 13se+1so; IIIL4 9se+1so, IIIL5 12se. Palpal claws undivided.
