81. Iotonchus indicus Jairajpuri, 1969 — {50} (0, 4, 0, 0; 1)

Population structure and abundance. Numerous juveniles and females (54 and 42 individuals, respectively) (36x10 3/m2).

Ecology and distribution. Likely an amphibiont. Recorded from soil and various boggy habitats, including shorelines of water bodies in Asia ( India, Vietnam and Malaysia), Central America ( El Salvador) and on one Caribbean island ( Saint Lucia) ( Jairajpuri & Khan 1982; Nguyen 2007; Ahmad & Jairajpuri 2010).

Remarks. Males unknown ( Ahmad & Jairajpuri 2010).

82. Iotonchus risoceiae (Carvalho, 1955) Andrássy, 1958 — {29} (0, 4, 0, 0; 1)

Population structure and abundance. Three juvenile individuals and three females.

Ecology and distribution. Amphibiont. Occurs predominantly in soil but also found in water. Relatively widespread globally, but rare and not abundant as a rule. Known from Europe, Africa, North and South America , Hawaii, and Mauritius. In Asia, known from India and Vietnam ( Zullini & Peneva 2006; Nguyen 2007; Andrássy 2009b; Ahmad & Jairajpuri 2010).

83. Iotonchus trichurus Cobb, 1917 — {22} (5, 0, 0, 0; 1)

Population structure and abundance. Single juvenile specimen and gravid female.

Ecology and distribution. Ecology is similar to the species described above. Widespread species but confined mainly to the tropical belt and to lower latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere : countries of South and South-East Asia (including Vietnam), Africa, Central and South America, islands of the Indian ( Mauritius), Pacific ( New Zealand, New Caledonia and Campbell) and Atlantic ( Saint Lucia) Oceans ( Zullini & Peneva 2006; Nguyen 2007; Ahmad & Jairajpuri 2010).
