Leptognathioides sp. indet.
Remarks
A few specimens previously identified by me as L. polita appear in localities ‘out of place’ for this taxon and may represent L. biarticulata . These samples are BIOFAR Stn 416 (eleven specimens, Iceland Basin slope, 1038 m) and BIOICE Stn 2853 (three specimens, Iceland Basin slope, 1840 m). The latter sample was the basis for the deepest record for L. polita in Bird (2001). Further study of these materials, currently at the Kaldbak Laboratory and IMNH respectively, would be required to validate the identifications, although the latter record is the more probable for L. biarticulata .
