Range: — Costa Rica, Venezuela to Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology: —Common; terrestrial in humid forests and at forest edges; (1250–) 2900–3950 m.
Notes: — McHenry & Barrington (2014) considered P. lehmannii to be restricted to the western Andean slope of the northern Andes and applied the name P. gelidum (Kunze ex Klotzsch) Fée to plants on the eastern slope from Venezuela to Bolivia. Here, we treat only P. lehmannii from Bolivia, and exclude P. gelidum , type from Venezuela, Moritz 294 (BM-photo UC) as occurring in Bolivia.
