Range: — Endemic to Bolivia (CO); known only from the type collection .
Ecology: —Rare; terrestrial in semihumid forests with Podocarpus parlatorei Pilg. , Oreopanax Decne. & Planch. , and Weinmannia ; 3200 m.
Notes: —A striking species, reminiscent of P. furfuraceum from southern Mexico and Central America, but probably not closely related.
