Elaphoglossum poeppigianum (Fée) T.Moore, Index Fil. View in CoL 13. 1857. ( Fig. 36A–E View FIGURE 36 )

Range: — Peru and Bolivia (CO, LP, SC, TA).

Ecology: —Uncommon; epiphytic in humid forests; 1000–2200(–3200) m.

Notes: —The sterile leaves with narrowly oblanceolate blades, long-decurrent blade bases, and petioles nearly lacking are similar to those of E. brachyneuron (Fée) T.Moore , a species from the Antilles and northern South America. That species differs from E. poeppigianum , however, by having long, piliform scales on the petioles and blades (vs. broad, lanceolate scales in E. brachyneuron ). The fertile leaves are also distinct, with elliptic blades totally covered by sporangia, cuneate blade bases, and long petioles in E. poeppigianum (vs. linear-oblanceolate blades with sporangia often limited to the distal half of blades, long-decurrent blade bases, and petioles nearly lacking in E. brachyneuron ).
