Range: — Costa Rica and Panama, Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC); southeastern Brazil.
Ecology: —Common; saxicolous on rock faces, less commonly terrestrial on cliffs and along roadsides, often in sheltered places not directly affected by rains, in humid forests; 1500–3650 m.
