Range: —Andes from northern Peru to Bolivia (LP).

Ecology: —Fairly common; terrestrial, rarely epiphytic, in humid forests and páramo vegetation; 1900–3400 m.

Notes: —Recognized by its long ((6–) 12–20 mm), linear, bright red-orange rhizome scales.
