Elaphoglossum kessleri A.Rojas, Revista Biol. Trop. View in CoL 50(3–4): 977. 2002. ( Fig. 34A–H View FIGURE 34 )

Range: — Peru and Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC).

Ecology: —Common; epiphytic in humid forests; 1700–2950 m.

Notes: —Several herbarium sheets had been annotated as “ E. nigroapiculatum R.C.Moran & Mickel , sp. nov. ined.”, a name never published. That epithet was a reference to the bicolorous scales of costae and margins, which are lanceolate, flattened, and darkened toward the tips. Elaphoglossum kessleri is further distinguished by sterile blades with attenuate to narrowly cuneate bases and abundant capitate-glandular hairs.

Elaphoglossum polyblepharum Mickel, Ann. View in CoL Missouri Bot. Gard. 78(1): 259. 1991. ( Fig. 54L–O View FIGURE 54 ) Range: —Sandstone massifs in southeastern Venezuela, northern Brazil, and Bolivia (SC). Ecology: —Rare; saxicolous on sandstone rocks in semihumid forests; 850 m. Notes: —The scaly blades resemble those of some species in sect. Setosa View in CoL , particularly E. acrocarpum View in CoL , from which it differs by the absence of hydathodes. First reported from Bolivia by Rojas-Alvarado (2002).
