Range: —From Trinidad across Amazonia to Bolivia (BE, LP, PA, SC), Paraguay, and northeastern Argentina.
Ecology: —Fairly common; terrestrial or sometimes climbing for short distances, in humid forests, often on waterlogged soils, in swampy areas, or close to streams; to 800(–1400) m.
Notes: —Can be confused with species of Meniscium (as suggested by the specific epithet), but that genus has exindusiate sori and acicular hairs on the blades. A species with three varieties, with var. meniscioides known from Bolivia, and the other two found in Colombia, Peru, and the Guianas. Cyclodium trianae (Mett.) A.R.Sm. , from Panama to Amazonian Ecuador and Peru, is likely to occur in northern Bolivia. It differs from C. meniscioides by its bipinnate blades, free (vs. anastomosing) veins, and round-reniform (vs. peltate) indusia.
