Range: —Hispaniola; Costa Rica and Panama; Colombia and Ecuador; Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology: —Rare; terrestrial in humid forests; 1200–2600 m.
Notes: — We are uncertain whether the Bolivian specimens ascribed to this species are conspecific with those from the type locality ( Costa Rica). If not, we are unaware of any name that would be available for the Bolivian plants .
