Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 1 specimen MHNG INVE 51691 (ex MHNG 1097/93 ), 15.2 cm . 1 specimen MHNG INVE 51692 (ex MHNG 1097/94 ), 15 cm . 1 specimen MHNG INVE 51693 (ex MHNG 1094/ 95 ), 111.5 mm (probably figured by Kiener, pl. 1) . 2 specimens MHNG INVE 51696 (ex MHNG 1097/98 ): 65.5 mm; 1097/98/2 : 54 mm . Locality on all labels: Amérique centrale.

Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained four specimens.

Current taxonomic position: Fasciolaria tulipa ( Linnaeus, 1758) ; type species of Fasciolaria Lamarck, 1799 [ Fasciolariidae ]. Locality is southeastern USA and the northern Caribbean.
