Stolons epigeal, leafy; stems 5-30 cm, strigulose above, with elevated lines. Leaves 1-3 x 0-2-0-8 cm, ovate or elliptical, subentire, rarely as long as internodes. Inflorescence strigulose, nodding before anthesis. Petals 3-6 mm, pale violet; stigma davate, surrounded by anthers at anthesis. Seeds c. 1-5 mm, fusiform, very finely papillose, with a pellucid appendage. • Mountains o f C. & S. Europe, from the Pyrenees to the Carpathians and Bulgaria. Au Bu Cz Ga Ge He Hs It Po Rm Rs (W).
