Type data. Japan, Yamagata Prefecture, from Microtus montebelli (Milne-Edwards) ( L. intermedium ); Japan, Hiroshima Prefecture, from Apodemus speciosus (Temminck) ( L. daisen ); South Korea, from Ochotona hyperborea coreana Allen and Andrews ( L. hiranumai ).
Remarks. Vercammen-Grandjean and Langston (1976) give some morphometric differences to support the status of L. intermedium daisen and L. intermedium hiranumai as separate subspecies. These differences, however, are not sufficient for discrimination of these forms, as it is evident from the above intervals. Thus, I think that considering them as separate taxa have no reasons.
