Schoengastiinae gen. sp.
Leptotrombidium magnipostum Wang and Yan, 1996 (source not found; cited by Li, Wang & Chen 1997).
Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) magnipostum, Li, Wang & Chen 1997: 150 , fig. 2-1-64.
Diagnosis. fPp = N/N/BNB; Pc = 3; Gn = 2; fSc: AM> AL> PL; SB/PL; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fD = 2H-6-6-2-6- 4-4; DS = 30; VS = 43; NDV = 73; Ip = 755; AW 68, PW 94, SB 38, ASB 26, PSB 30, SD 56, AP 36, AM 64, AL 43, PL 38, S -, H -, D min -, D max -, V min -, V max -, pa 266, pm 213, pp 276.
Type data. China, from Neodon sikimensis Horsfield .
Remarks. This species was described from a single specimen with broken sensilla. Shape of scutum, position of sensilla at almost equal distances from the levels of ALs and PLs, presence of sloping ridges above sensillary bases, and very short ALs and PLs, as compared with AM, suggest that this species belongs to the subfamily Schoengastiinae . Probably its description contains errors.
Key to species
Number of species description is given in parentheses after each species name. Leptotrombidium gaohuense Wei, Tong and Shi, 1987 and L. namru Hadi, 1991 are not included in the key.
