Cicada (Platypleura) poeyi Guérin-Méneville 1856: 178 View in CoL , plate 13, Fig. 16 ( Cuba).

Remarks. A species originally described from Cuba ( Guérin-Méneville 1856). Osborn (1935) then reported in a work concentrating on Puerto Rico that the species occurred in the West Indies but did not inhabit Puerto Rico. The species has been reported only from Cuba (Greater Antilles) and is not considered to be part of the Lesser Antilles cicada fauna.

Distribution. The species is known only from Cuba ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013).
