Diagnosis. Palps at least 6 times longer than wide. Antero-lateral setae numerous (about 90 pairs) or few in number (10–27 pairs). Setae dm1 tapered or apically expanded. Setae dm3 absent. Peripheral setae apically expanded and arranged in 1 row. Four pairs of genital setae g1–g4 present. Pseudanal series with 1–6 pairs of spine-like or apically expanded setae ps.
Included species. Pterygosoma caucasica Jack, 1961 , Pterygosoma dayana Jack, 1962 , Pterygosoma gracilipalpis Jack, 1962 .
Distribution. These mites are found in the western region of the Palaearctic ecozone and the northern part of the Indiomalaya ecozone.
Host range. This group is exclusively parasitizing lizards of the genera Laudakia and Paralaudakia (Agamidae) .
