Occurs in the southeastern Pacific, from central Chile southwards to Patagonia, as well as in the southwestern Atlantic, with records from the Falkland Islands and the Shag Rocks / South Georgia area, ( Torti & Boschi 1973; Boschi et al. 1981, 1992; Arntz et al. 1999, Guzmán & Quiroga 2005; Lovrich et al. 2004; Anosov 2012); benthic, 35– 545 m.
