Type species. Anteus schuetti Michaelsen, 1895
Diagnosis. Setae eight per segment; intraclitellar male pores; calciferous glands three pairs in 7–9 of lamellar structure and with or without ectal membranous calciferous reservoir; testes in 10 or 11 within testis sacs; seminal vesicles one pair restricted to 11 or 12 or absent; ovaries in 13; spermathecae in testicular and or pre-testicular segments. Number of species: 40. Distribution: Colombia (33), Ecuador (3), Costa Rica (2), Brazil (1), Venezuela (1).
