Type species. Dentalium trachea Montagu, 1803 View in CoL by subsequent designation (J.E. Gray 1847: 203).
Diagnosis. Protoconch planispirally coiled. Shell minute; teleoconch slightly curved tube, smooth or crossed by collabral rings, axial ribs, or in combination. Posterior end closed by conical septum.
