Gynandropus mexicanus Putzeys 1878c: 291 View in CoL . Type locality: Mexico (Veracruz, Cordova ). Types: Chaudoir collection in MNHN and possibly the Putzeys collection in Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles, Brussels, Belgium .
Descriptive Notes. Pronotum with sides slightly sinuate before rectangular sharp hind angles; basal impressions densely, coarsely punctate; disc very shiny, microlines absent or barely visible at 80×. ABS1 distinct. Elytra not iridescent. Dimorphism + ♂ 2 + ♀ 2. Median lobe with dorsoapical plate subquadrate, apex blunt, margin a thin U-shaped lip. Endophallus featureless. ABL 6.3–6.8 mm.
Range. USA: sTX *; Mexico; Guatemala; Costa Rica*; Nicaragua*. New country record for USA.
