Selenophorus fabricii Shpeley, Hunting, and Ball View in CoL ( Fig. 31 View Figs )
Selenophorus fabricii Shpeley et al. 2017: 79 View in CoL View Cited Treatment . Type locality: Dominican Republic ( Cabo Rojo , Pedernales province) . Types: CMNH.
Descriptive Notes. Large, ABL at least 9 mm. Pronotum with base broad; widest near middle, well behind marginal setae; hind angle areas flat, densely punctulate. Elytra with striae markedly widened preapically; intervals usually densely punctulate; ABS1 long, well impressed. Femora dark. Median lobe with bulb moderately dilated; apex not distorted. ABL 9.5–10.2 mm.
Range. USA: sFL; West Indies.
Remarks. Compared to S. opalinus , the pronotum more transverse with anterior angles less projected forward; dorsoapical plate more narrowly tapered. The southern Florida records previously attributed to “ Selenophorus integer (Fabricius) ” were corrected by Shpeley et al. (2017) to be those of the widespread West Indian species S. fabricii . Selenophorus integer is restricted to the far eastern islands of the West Indies.
