Oxyopes mirabilis Zhang, Yang & Zhu, 2005: 76 View in CoL , figs 2A −C. (13, Longlin Town, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna, type in MHBU, not examined)
Material examined: A total of 28 3, 26 Ƥ from China: Yunnan: Xishuangbanna, Mengla County, Menglun Nature Reserve (N21º54.463', E101º15.978', 550−620 m), all collected by hand, April to July, 2007, leg. G. Zheng ( IZCAS).
Diagnosis. This species is similar to O. gaofengensis Zhang, Zhang & Kim, 2005 . It can be separated from the latter by the cymbial apophysis triangular (hood-shaped in O. gaofengensis ); palpal tegular apophysis L-shaped (simply curved in O. gaofengensis ) in males and by the copulatory ducts twisted three times in female (curved simply in O. gaofengensis ). The differences between this species and O. submirabilis sp. nov. are discussed in the diagnosis of O. submirabilis sp. nov.
Female (specimen labelled “Searching XZIII-3-17”): Total length 6.00, Prosoma 2.50 long, 2.00 wide; opisthosoma 3.50 long, 1.65 wide. Carapace yellow with grayish brown longitudinal stripes. Ocular area grayish black. Eye measurements: AME 0.11, ALE 0.23, PME 0.20, PLE 0.22, AME-AME 0.18; AME-ALE 0.07; PME-PME 0.26; PME-PLE 0.30. Eye row width measurement: I 0.38, II 0.60, III 1.15, IV 0.64. Clypeus height 0.64. Chelicera and sternum yellow, labium and endites light brown. Legs slender, with long spines, femora I–II with grayish black stripes prolaterally. Leg measurements: I 10.60 (2.80, 3.70, 3.00, 1.10); II 9.85 (2.70, 3.40, 2.80, 0.95); III 8.50 (2.40, 2.80, 2.50, 0.80); IV 10.20 (2.80, 3.20, 3.20, 1.00), leg formula: 1423. Opisthosoma dorsally grayish-yellow with grayish-black markings laterally; ventrally with a grayish-black marking mesally.
Epigynum ( Figs 29 View FIGURE 29 C–D, 30C–D). Posterior sclerotized edge wider anteriorly; copulatory ducts twisted three times, spermatheca posteriorly situated.
Male: See Zhang, Yang & Zhu, 2005: 76–77.
Palp ( Figs 29 View FIGURE 29 A–B, 30A–B). In retrolateral view, VTA leaf-shaped, tegular apophysis large “L”-shaped, embolus slender.
Variation. Total length: 3 5.80–6.20 (n=28); Ƥ 6.00–6.40 (n=26).
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Remarks. All examined specimens were collected by ground searching. This species inhabits low vegetation and shrubs.
