( Figure 2 View FIGURE 2 )

Anacroneuria itajaimirim Bispo & Froehlich 2004: 105 View in CoL , description; Froehlich 2010: 159, catalog; Almeida & Bispo 2020: 15, pictures and COI sequences.

Material examined. BRAZIL, São Paulo: Iporanga, Parque Estadual Intervales, Três Córregos , 16.vii.2023, Almeida & Taniguti col., 4 nymphs .

Nymph description. General color brown in dorsal view and light yellow in ventral view. Head bicolored with subtly distinguishable light-brown M line ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Labrum brown; frontoclypeus brown with an ochraceous anterior band ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Posterior part of the head light yellow with posterior end of occiput light brown; eyes and ocelli black ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Scape and pedicel brown, flagellum light brown ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Labium brownish ( Figure 2E View FIGURE 2 ). Mandibles brown and laterally dark brown with a dense brush of bristles in molar area; five teeth, the first being smaller than the others, the second, third and fourth similar in size ( Figure 2F View FIGURE 2 ). Maxillae brown ( Figure 2G View FIGURE 2 ). Pronotum brown with median line and rugosities lighter ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Mesonotum and metanotum brown with light yellow pattern; wing pads brown with light yellow apex ( Figure 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Legs ochraceous; femur covered with sparse bristles, anteriorly and posteriorly with high density of thick bristles; tibia posteriorly with well-developed band of hairs ( Figure 2D View FIGURE 2 ). Abdomen brown ( Figure 2C View FIGURE 2 ); cercus light brown with a ring of long bristles on each segment, segments differ in shape and size from base to apex ( Figure 2H View FIGURE 2 ). Thoracic gills: ASC1, PSC1, AT2, AT3, PT3, and A1 (sensu Shepard & Stewart 1983).

Measurements. Nymph (n=4). Mean head width = 3.55 mm; mean body length = 11.84 mm; mean length of antenna = 7.89 mm; mean length of the cercus = 9.56 mm.

Remarks. The nymph of A. itajaimirim exhibits some similarities to the nymph described as A. debilis by Avelino-Capistrano et al. (2011). Both species have a pattern of spots on the head and pronotum, characterized by a dark spot running from the frontoclypeal region to near the ocelli. However, there are notable differences between the two species. In A. debilis , the posterior edge of the dark spot begins anterior to the compound eyes and extends posteriorly to the ocelli, forming an almost V-shaped spot (see figure 2 in Avelino-Capistrano et al. 2011). On the other hand, in A. itajaimirim , the dark spot has constrictions that give it a different shape, ending and forming a Ushaped spot anterior to the ocelli ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ).
