Diagnosis. MALE. Body robust and short, especially pronotal disc, propodeal disc and metasoma ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Antenna with eleven flagellomeres ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Mandible with three apical teeth, upper one wide, blunt and inclined, median one sharpened, lower one sharpened and large ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Forewing with basal vein reaching subcostal vein far from stigma ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Metasoma with tergal process on tergite III ( Figs 8–9 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Metasomal tergite I longer than II ( Figs 8–9 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Metasomal tergite II shorter than III, its posterior margin strongly excavated ( Figs 8–9 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Tergal process consisting of some paralleled rows of setae placed on anterior third of lateral surface ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 1 – 9. 1 – 4 ). Hypopygeal median stalk very wide, apex usually rounded, lateral stalk conspicuous, posterior margin emarginated in many species. Paramere with apical surface folded into outer and inner laminae. Basiparamere distinctly separated from basivolsella on ventral side; apical surface horizontal, angled inward. Digitus with hypertrophied membranous ramous giving rise from out surface of basal area. Basivolsella with inner border thickened. Aedeagus divided into dorsal body and ventral ramus. Aedeagal apodeme short. Base of aedeagus covered by dorsal diamond-shaped lamina. Genital ring very wide laterally. Basal ring absent.
