Distribution. From Mexico to Peru, northern Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Guianas, Curaçao and Bonaire, and southern USA. In Brazil it occurs in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Pernambuco, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rondônia, Roraima, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo and in the Distrito Federal ( Rodrigues et al. 2002; Reis et al. 2007).

Habitat. This species is exclusively insectivorous, using habitats from dry deciduous forest to moist evergreen forest, roosting at hollow trees, rocks, caves, and human dwellings in colonies with several hundreds individuals ( Reis et al. 2007). We captured all our individuals with mist nets alongside the São Domingos River (12° 54’ 50.8” S, 47° 34’ 0.7” W), in Paranã, TO GoogleMaps .

Voucher specimens. Two females – CHUNB 1205 View Materials and 1215; one adult male – CHUNB 1243 View Materials .
