Distribution. Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Guianas, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Haiti to southern Mexico and Cuba. In Brazil it occurs in the states of Amazonas, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Piauí, Rondônia, and Roraima and in the Distrito Federal ( Reis et al. 2007).
Habitat. Inhabits humid and arid habitats from coastal lowlands to 3,000 m elevation. Pteronotus parnellii roost in caves, mines, and hollow’s tree ( Herd 1983; Gonçalves & Gregorin 2004). The only individual we collected was caught with a mist net São Domingos River (12° 54’ 50.8” S, 47° 34’ 0.7” W), in Paranã, TO.
