HISTIOSTOMATIDAE Berlese, 1897 View in CoL
This is a large family, comprising 57 genera and many species. Only two unidentified species from the genera Anoetus Dujardin, 1842 (87 known species), Histiostomatidae undet. and Histiostoma Kramer, 1876 (200 known species) and Solianoetus ramozae Fain and Camerik, 1978 were collected, from Odontotaenius disjunctus (Illiger, 1800) , O. striatopunctatus , O. zodiacus and Passalus sp. ( Delfinado and Baker 1975; Fain and Camerik 1978; Seeman and Nahrung 2000; Barrios-Torres and Villegas-Guzmán 2015) ( Tables 2 View Table 2 , 4 and 7 View Table 7 ). These mites are phoretically related mainly to insects but the Passalidae are rare or understudied hosts for them.
