TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Sumatra .

DISTRIBUTION: Iraq to Indochina, Malaya, and Sumatra. Possibly Borneo.

COMMENT: Davis, 1978, in Otters, IUCN Publ., N.S., 1:14-33, placed this species in genus Lutrogale , as does ND; but see Corbet, 1978:176, and Hall, 1981: 1029.
