Type:— Turkey. Prov. Erzincan, Dist. Refahiye, 1 km N of Refahiye, 1540–1560 m, 2 July 1953, Huber-Morath 12974 (Holotype: G photo!).

Glabrous, glaucous, hapaxanth biennial, 16–45 cm. Branched from root after 5–7 cm above cauline leaves, corymbose above. Stem round, glabrous, waxy, bright-blue-green, in the lower part often reddish. Basal leaves entire, spatulate, lower ones have leafy petiole resemble lyrate but drying on flowering time, loose rosette, 15–25 × 4–5 mm. Cauline leaves roundish-lanceolate or oblong; upper ones triangular, acute, 12–70 × 3–13 mm. Sepals green, 1.8–1.9 × 0.9–1.1 mm, ovoid. Petals white, (2.9–)3.3–3.6 × 0.8–1 mm. Racemes dense with up to 80–90 flowers in flowering time, fruiting racemes elongate to 9 cm. Style 1.1–1.3 mm. Fruit ovate, 4.6–5.1 × 2.8 –3.3 mm, with inflexed horns to 1.6 × 0.5 mm. Seeds orange, coarsely punctate, verrucose, 2–4 per locule, (1.5)1.6–2.1 × 1.5–1.6 mm.

Habitat: Steppe.

Altitude: 1500–2000 m.

Flowering and fruiting time: May–June.
