Material studied. Holotype mal e ( NRM): N.E. BURMA ( MYANMAR), Kambaiti, 7000 ft, 1.vi.1934, R. Malaise. Paratype ( NRM): Same data as holotype but 6800 ft, 7.iv.1934, 1 ɗ.
Description (male). Head ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 F). Eye bridge 2–3 facets wide. Prefrons with 12 setae, clypeus with 1 setae. Palpomere 1 with 1 seta. Length/width of flagellomere 4 of antenna 2.00. Thorax. Anterior pronotum with 4 setae, episternum 1 with 5 setae. Wing. Length 1.8 mm, width/length 0.55, c/ w 0.55, R1/R 0.70. rm with 2 setae. Legs ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 B). Length of spur/width of tibia 1.25. Abdomen. Sternite 8 with 9 setae. Hypopygium ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 A, B). Female: Unknown.
Discussion. Keilbachia scutica is similar to K. flagrispina Mohrig by having a long mesial megaseta and by having the tegmen with straight lateral sides and apex. Keilbachia scutica can be distinguished from K. flagrispina by having the sensillar pit of the maxillary palp much wider ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 F, 2B), and the basal body of the mesial megaseta of the gonostylus simple, not basally narrowed ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ).
