Material studied. Holotype mal e ( NRM): N.E. BURMA ( MYANMAR), Kambaiti, 2000 m, 24.iv.1934, R. Malaise.
Description (male). Head (Fig. 2D). Eye bridge 2–3 facets wide. Prefrons with 16 setae, clypeus with 9 setae. Palpomere 1 with 1 seta. Length/width of flagellomere 4 of antenna 1.30. Thorax. Anterior pronotum with 5 setae, episternum 1 with 7 setae. Wing. Length 1.6 mm, width/length 0.40, c/ w 0.65, R1/R 0.65. rm nonsetose. Legs ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A). Length of spur/width of front tibia 1.25. Abdomen. Sternite 8 with 4 setae. Hypopygium ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 A, B). Female: Unknown.
Discussion. Keilbachia tenuicula is similar to K. mira by having the basal body of the mesial megaseta of the gonostylus very long and without apical modifications. Keilbachia tenuicula differs from K. mira by having a deep sensory pit on the maxillary palp (shallow in K. mira ; Fig. 2A, D) and a deeper, more strongly bordered patch of modified setae on the front tibia ( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 A, 4A) and by having the subapical gonostylar megasetae placed farther apart ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ). Keilbachia tenuicula also resembles the Palaearctic K. ferrata (Hippa & Vilkamaa) with regard to the latter character, but differs from it by the stouter subapical megasetae, more slender gonostylus, and the strikingly longer basal body of the mesial megaseta.
