Diaphorina continua Loginova, 1972 View in CoL
Material examined. None.
Description. Adult. Loginova (1972).
Fifth-instar immature. Unknown.
Distribution CI. Fuerteventura, Isla de Lobos, Lanzarote ( Loginova 1976).
Host plant CI. Unknown for the Canary Islands. Rapisarda (1991) reported a long series of adults from Sardinia that were collected on Thymelaea tarton-raira (L.) All. ( Thymelaeaceae ), a possible host which is not present in the Canary Islands.
Comments. Diaphorina continua is morphologically similar to D. chobauti Puton, 1898 ( Burckhardt 1984) . The taxonomic status of both species is uncertain and needs to be reviewed (Burckhardt, unpublished data). Study of more material including adults, immatures and additional host information from the entire Mediterranean Basin are needed to resolve the taxonomy of these species.
