Material examined. Fuerteventura: 2 ♂, 2 ♀, Ajuy, 10 km north of Pajara , 50 m alt., 19.ii.1996 (C. Lienhard) #IC-96/2 ( MHNG, dry) ; 6 ♀, La Pared , West coast, 19–24.iii.1996, below halophytic plants, Tamarix (E. Heiss) ( NHMB, dry). Lanzarote: 4 ♂ , 5 ♀, Haria , 6.iii.1990, Tamarix (E. Heiss) ( NHMB, dry) .

Description. Adult. Loginova (1972).

Fifth-instar immature. Unknown.

Distribution CI. Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote ( Loginova 1972, 1976). The records of Colposcenia aliena from Fuerteventura and Lanzarote by Enderlein (1929) possibly concerns C. viridis (see comment under C. aliena ).

Host plant CI. Presumably Tamarix sp. (Tamaricaceae) ( Loginova 1976).
