Corimbion balteum Martins, 1970 View in CoL

( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8 – 14. 8 – 13 )

Corimbion balteum Martins, 1970: 891 View in CoL ; Monné, 1993: 52 (cat.); Monné & Giesbert, 1994: 77 (checklist); Monné, 2005: 363 (cat.); Monné & Hovore, 2006: 96 (checklist); Martins, 2009: 22, 24; Monné, 2015: 552.

According to Martins (1970) here is the original description of Corimbion balteum View in CoL (translated): “Elytra with anterior half orangish-red and apical half black, separated by whitish band that is projected forward along suture and also advances to the front near to margin. At center of anterior half there is whitish macula, slightly developed, dorsal, slightly elongate.” However, we find the apical half of elytra to be dark reddish-brown. In addition to his description we add that there is a slightly distinct, yellowish, elongated band on the basal half of the brown area of each elytron laterally. The incorrect elytral color of C. balteum View in CoL was also repeated by Martins (2009) in his key and redescription.
