( Figs. 2 View FIGURES 1–6 , 8 View FIGURES 7–12 , 18 View FIGURES 17–22 , 24 View FIGURES 23–28 , 30 View FIGURES 29–34 , 36 View FIGURES 35–40 , 42 View FIGURES 41–46 , 48 View FIGURES 47–52 , 54 View FIGURES 53–58 , 60 View FIGURES 59–64 )

Material examined. CHINA, Guangxi Prov.: 8 apterous males, 10 apterous females, Shangsi county, Shiwandashan , 13 July 2019, Zhen Ye leg. ( NKUM) .

Remarks. The specimens that we have examined closely match the original description provided by Miyamoto (1964). Pseudovelia takarai can be distinguished by its relatively dark ground color ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–6 , 8 View FIGURES 7–12 ) and a short, nearly globular hind tarsal segment I ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 29–34 ). Abdominal segment VIII ( Figs. 36 View FIGURES 35–40 , 42 View FIGURES 41–46 , 48 View FIGURES 47–52 , 54 View FIGURES 53–58 ) of P. takarai has a large, oval-like depression; the lateral margin of the depression has two tufts of setae and dense, suberect, black hairs; the longitudinal midline of the depression bears two rows of small bristles. The pygophore ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 59–64 ) is slightly narrowed in the middle; the anterior margin has a pair of dense, long bristles. Based on current collection data, this species might have a wide distribution in the Oriental regions. This is a new record for China.

Distribution. China (Guangxi), Japan ( Fig. 65 View FIGURE 65 ).
