Chironomus inaabeus Sasa, Kitami et Suzuki, 2001: 2 . syn. n. Specimen examined: Japan: Fukushima Pref., Lake Inawashiro, holotype ♂ of Chironomus inaabeus , 17. viii. 2000, K. Kitami [specimen No. 401:08 (NSMT-I-Dip-5369)].
Four setae along the inner margin of the superior volsella are not recognized in the holotype of Chironomus inaabeus . Colour pattern of the body and the shape of superior volsella completely consistent with those of C. nippodorsalis View in CoL .
