Records: Species broadly distributed in European waters and in the North American coasts: Bell (1982: 215–220) recorded it from South Carolina; Bishop (1984: 389–390) from the Gulf of Mexico, and Rouse (1995: 249) from Chesapeake Bay (Maryland).
