World distribution: China [not India] (Yang & Liu 2010: 106; Cao & Liu 2013: 145).
Note: No modern confirmed occurrence records are known from India. All previous Indian occurrence citations (e.g., Needham 1909: 194; Glorioso 1981: 288; Ghosh 2000a: 121) appear to be misidentifications. Acanthacorydalis orientalis is currently considered to be endemic to China (Yang & Liu 2010: 106; Cao & Liu 2013: 145; Martins et al. 2022).
