Diagnosis. Body sub-oblong, total length: 4.5–6.2, slightly convex laterally, uniformly dark brown to black; eyes wide, posterior margin contiguous with pronotal collar; labium usually exceeding posterior coxae; first antennal segment elongate, bearing some stiff, suberect setae; pronotum with sparse, dark brown to black, dense, silvery setae; scutellum slightly swollen but not ampule-like; metafemora Phytocoris -like, elongate, distally tapered, tibial spines light; hemelytra dull, punctation very reduced, pilosity similar to that on pronotum, veins raised above surface; secondary gonopore complete, devoid of sclerite or long hairs; phallus devoid of comb, with at least a true spiculum and frequently some other sclerites, including a phallic support; parieto-vaginal rings large, devoid of anterior projection or other additional sclerite; dorso-labiate plate distinct; dorsal process of posterior wall and median process reduced or absent.

Distribution. Australia, Japan, Korea, Papua New Guinea, several Pacific Islands, Sri Lanka.
Host plants. Fabaceae. A. brunnescens was also collected by fogging on Meliaceae, Rubiaceae and Sapindaceae (Chérot et al. in prep.).
