This species appears to be the West African counterpart of E. erronea and is very similar to it. It diOEers principally in having a relatively long second ¯agellomere and sterna 6±7 with mixed black and white vestiture. From E. selenops it also diOEers in that the epiphallus is not emarginate at the sides.

Description

HOLOTYPE. l DiOEers from E. selenops as follows: head with black hair on frons extending to upper part of facial cone; second ¯agellomere as long as pedicel; no black hairs on pleura; legs without any white scales on femora; black hair at sides of abdomen dense as in E. luteicosta ; sterna 6±7 with mixed black and white vestiture. Male genitalia with epiphallus not emarginate, tongue-like in dorsal view as in E. luteicosta . Length of body, 12 mm; of wing, 11 mm.
