Discussion. Potamides ? romanovskyi Vyalov, 1936 is a species described from the Eocene of Buchara ( Uzbekistan); the type material is stored in the TSNIGR Museum Saint-Petersburg ( Malchevskaya 1985). We doubt that the specimen described by Ryabinin & Korobkov (1949) from the middle Oligocene of Georgia is conspecific with the Eocene species. The poor illustration, however, does not allow an identification.
