Lethocerus maximus De Carlo, 1938

Geographical distribution: Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina. Perez-Goodwyn (2006) cites that the species can also be found on some islands of the Caribbean and Curaçao. South American records of L. grandis from outside the area defined by Perez-Goodwyn (2006) for the species (see above) are considered for L. maximus by that same author and also on this list.

Distribution in Brazil: all regions (PA, CE, MT, MS, ES, RJ, RS) ( Dias da Rocha 1936; Ribeiro 2005; Perez- Goodwyn 2006).
